Get your podcast passes ready, because they need to be signed, verified, signed again and sent over to room 455 for inspection. Don't you just love bureaucracy and all its red tape?

The Mikes are taking a look at Terry Gilliam's 1985 classic, Brazil, starring Jonathan Pryce, Robert De Niro, Bob Hoskins, Ian Holm, Kim Greist, and more!

"If its such a classic film, then why are you talking about it on the podcast?" we hear you state in your troll-iest voice. Well smarty pants, that's what Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss in the podcast. Though widely known and discussed amongst film aficionados, the average joe under the age of 35 has probably never seen the film. Even many film schools that should be teaching about Brazil do not, which leaves a whole new generation of filmmakers without knowledge of a very defining piece of film history. That's where the Mikes come in...

Listen in as they talk about the importance of the film, from the story and themes, to the production, design and world building on a small budget. They'll all discuss the many different versions of the film and Terry Gilliam's fight to keep his cut of the film and the clever way he achieved it.

Also, we can't get that song out of our head either.

So grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits at the front and rear of the auditorium, and settle down for Forgotten Cinema

About the Podcast

Forgotten Cinema
A podcast about forgotten films that deserve a second chance
Welcome to Forgotten Cinema! Each episode, Mike Field and Mike Butler highlight a film that for a variety of reasons was forgotten by audiences. Whether it be because a more popular movie was released at the same time or the movie simply didn’t catch on with an audience in the its initial run. We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.
