The Abyss: Special Edition

The Mikes are diving down into the oceans depths to bring you this "special edition" episode. And by special edition we mean James Cameron's The Abyss: Special Edition!!!!!!

Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss all the facts about the dangerous and stressful making of this film as well as why out of all director's cuts and special editions, this one is the one with the most importance on one's enjoyment of the film; as the theatrical version of The Abyss presents a meaningless and incoherent plot, lost to the cutting room floor for the sake of a specific runtime.

So, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down once again for Forgotten Cinema!

About the Podcast

Forgotten Cinema
A podcast about forgotten films that deserve a second chance
Welcome to Forgotten Cinema! Each episode, Mike Field and Mike Butler highlight a film that for a variety of reasons was forgotten by audiences. Whether it be because a more popular movie was released at the same time or the movie simply didn’t catch on with an audience in the its initial run. We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.
