Young Sherlock Holmes

The game is afoot!

Join the Mikes as they put on their finest deerstalker caps and watch a young Sherlock Holmes and Watson stop an Egyptian cult from murdering people with hallucinogenic blow darts in 19th century London in Barry Levinson's Young Sherlock Holmes, written by Chris Columbus.

Mike Field and Mike Butler discuss how the film is a classic 80's adventure film with a lot of Spielberg touches, that harken back to Indiana Jones or The Goonies. Butler will also discuss how even though it came long after, its hard not to compare this film to another very British film from Chris Columbus...Harry Potter.

So grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits at the front and rear of the auditorium, and settle down for Forgotten Cinema

About the Podcast

Forgotten Cinema
A podcast about forgotten films that deserve a second chance
Welcome to Forgotten Cinema! Each episode, Mike Field and Mike Butler highlight a film that for a variety of reasons was forgotten by audiences. Whether it be because a more popular movie was released at the same time or the movie simply didn’t catch on with an audience in the its initial run. We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.
