Conspiracy Theory

The Mikes are ending Forgotten Cinema?! It's a conspiracy I tell you! See what I did there?

Mike Field and Mike Butler take a look at one last film for Forgotten Cinema and they're going out with a bang! Taking a look at a film starring America's darling, Mel Gibson. Just kidding! I mean Julia Roberts! There, that's better.

The Mikes discuss the 1997 Richard Donner film, Conspiracy Theory, also starring Patrick Stewart in a villain role. They'll mostly talk about the utter lack of conspiracy in this film and the amount of pure happenstance and convenience that is needed to keep the plot going. When that fails, the characters simply explain to you an entire subplot at the end of the film that they have never brought up before; but apparently has been the driving force of the entire film.

So, for one last time, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down for Forgotten Cinema

About the Podcast

Forgotten Cinema
A podcast about forgotten films that deserve a second chance
Welcome to Forgotten Cinema! Each episode, Mike Field and Mike Butler highlight a film that for a variety of reasons was forgotten by audiences. Whether it be because a more popular movie was released at the same time or the movie simply didn’t catch on with an audience in the its initial run. We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.
