The Tailor of Panama

The Mikes are going to Panama to blackmail a tailor into giving them some juicy political information on the Panama Canal...and maybe a couple of nice suits as they discuss the 2001 film The Tailor of Panama on this episode of Forgotten Cinema!

Listen in as Mike Butler and Mike Field talk about how this film is not really a spy film, but a conman film that just so happens to involve spies. The Mikes will also discuss the chemistry between stars Pierce Brosnan and Geoffrey Rush, how Brosnan plays an almost douchey-er version of James Bond, the unbelievable ending involving Rush's character and his wife, played by Jamie Lee Curtis, and the questionable casting of Brendan Gleeson as a native Panamanian (who happens to have an Irish accent).

So, grab your popcorn and soda, please notice the exits to the left and right of you and settle down for Forgotten Cinema

About the Podcast

Forgotten Cinema
A podcast about forgotten films that deserve a second chance
Welcome to Forgotten Cinema! Each episode, Mike Field and Mike Butler highlight a film that for a variety of reasons was forgotten by audiences. Whether it be because a more popular movie was released at the same time or the movie simply didn’t catch on with an audience in the its initial run. We’ll discuss what we love about the movie or perhaps don’t love about it and decide whether the movie is worth a revisit.
